In 2010, Edeme founded the first intermodal logistics firm within Nigeria, ConnectRail Services Limited (CRSL), a leading intermodal logistics services provider with the professional integration of all transport options – road, barge and rail; offering fast, flexible and cost-optimised solutions for containerized and non-containerized cargo within Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
In the same year he successfully handled the first operations (from farm gate to seaport) for the containerized export of cassava chips to China by rail
By the year 2016 the company had achieved the bulk haulage of wheat for Tiger Brands (now Dangote Flour from Apapa sea port to the mill storage in Ilorin, Kwara state (400km), the rail haulage of Petroleum products from Lagos to kano (1,132km), the intermodal delivery of bulk stone shipping’s (granite) from the quarry in Niger state to a sugar refinery project in Niger State (300km), rail haulage of bagged cement for Lafarge Holcim PLC from the plant at Ewekoro in Ogun state to various locations across Nigeria amongst other notable achievements.
In order to extend the service portfolio and thus to fill the gap in the logistics space, CRSL closed agreement and alliances with the Nigerian Ports Authority in 2018 to champion the movement of cargo by barges along the Lagos inland waterways.
Mr Edeme Kelikume was elected as the President of the Barge Operators Association of Nigeria in 2019. He is an accomplished and highly experienced professional in logistics and transportation having over 10 years’ experience.
