Anne Flanagan, BA (St John’s, NY), JD (Brooklyn Law School, NY, LLM (Lon) is Professor of Law and Legal Education at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London.
She is the LLM Director at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies. Anne also teaches on various courses on the Queen Mary’s LLM and the MSc in IP Management, including Information Security and the Law, Privacy and Data Protection, EU Telecommunications Law, International Telecommunications Law, EU Data Protection Law, International and Comparative Data Protection Law, Competition Law, Intellectual Property and Innovation, Competition Law and Information and Communications Technologies. Anne has been a Visiting Professor of Law at Universita L. Bocconi in Milan and Visiting Scholar at Brooklyn Law School and the Georgetown University School of Law. She has served as Senior International Expert to the EU-China Information Society Law Project.
Anne has participated in law reform, research and training projects for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UNCTAD and the EU. Her research interests include intellectual property, competition law, privacy and data protection, cybercrime and freedom of information law. Before Queen Mary, she practiced law for 16 years in the U.S. financial services industry.
